TESTIMONIALS

My wife and I loved the Reignac. A real Chateau. Our room, the Layfayette was enchanting with a balcony overlooking the yard. Beautiful chappel and grounds. New bathroom. A wonderful place to spend the night. Proprietors very friendly and helpful.

Staying at this hotel is a great experience. We enjoyed everything at the hotel and especially the personal service we received from the hotel staff and even from its owner.
Israel, October 2008

First, this is not a resort. This is an actual Chateau. Forgetting the accomodations for a moment, this reminded me of a B&B experience...that happens to also serve dinner.

The staff was quite attentive and easy to find. Keeping in mind that this is about a 12-14 room property, which means the front desk is not constantly staffed, we never had any trouble finding someone if we had a question. Many times I witnessed the staff interacting with guests, advising them (us) on things to do, and actually, many times, seeing people off in the mornings with a friendly wave, and welcoming them back in the evening with similar warmth.

I cannot comment on breakfast, as we are not breakfast people. The breakfast is not included in the rate, but I did notice that most people seemed to partake. We did have dinner at the Chateau one night, and it was very good. It is fixed price, and fixed menu, no choices, but staff did ask beforehand if we had any particular dietary needs. Portion sizes were great, food was tasty, and the included wine was excellent. We had a great evening.

Within about 15 minutes, are great restaurants, and chateaus to visit. It is remarkable that some of the rooms you visit as you go around the chateaus remind you of your sleeping room. We thought that was pretty cool.

Now, to the accomodations. This is a chateau once inherited and owned by Lafayette. My wife is something of an American history buff....so this pretty much sealed the deal for us in terms of giving it a try. Layfayette and his family occuipied the chateau regularly until the French revolution in 1792, when they were imprisoned.

We stayed in the Adrienne de Noialles room (Lafayette's wife). The room was quite nice. There were two bottles of water and some small candies in the room, both of which were refreshed every day. It was quite nice. We felt like we were reliving a tiny bit of history.

The chateau itself is old.....it's a chateau! That is the beauty of the place! The front entrance is a large parking area filled with pebbles but easy to drive upon. There is no pool, this is not a resort, but there are beautiful grounds out back with lots of table/chair/umbrella areas, as well as lounge chairs should you want to catch some rays. Personally, I liked to sit outside and listen to all of the birds. It's a really cool place.

Also, the Chateau does offer free internet service, but not in the rooms. In one of the public rooms downstairs, there is an ethernet cable that attaches to the net. When we were there, we seemed to be the only ones using either the net, or that room, so we kinda used it as our temporary office for a couple hours each day. Worked out fine.

Overall, fantastic experience and we will happily return!

El trato por el personal del Chateau así como las instalaciones son excenlentes. Un diez.
Spain, March 2008

My partner and I stayed only one night in the Louis-Antoine de Bougainville suite and left feeling very disappointed.....that we couldn't stay longer!! This chateau is so very beautiful, the furnishings exquisite yet simple and uncluttered and the service was lovely and very accommodating. Both the room itself and the bathroom were huge and there were two large windows in the room letting in a lot of light as well as a beautiful view of the park worthy of a painting. Breakfast was from 0830, however, we had to be at an appointment by 0900 so we would have had to miss it. But a few minutes after we checked in, when we were on our way out for a walk, Erick told us he would make sure everything was ready for 0800. That's the "little bit extra" which makes any accommodation that much better. The breakfast was wonderful, even the coffee is brought to your table in your own little french press! The Chateau is in a very beautiful little village and is within about 20 minutes from much of the sightseeing and wineries of the region. I have been to the Loire quite a few times and am totally enamoured with the gorgeous villages and stunning views.
We were very impressed with the Chateau and would return without hesitation.

We were thrilled to be at Château de Reignac from the moment we arrived.  Lovely appetziers and apéritifs preceded dinner and we had the opportunity to sit and chat with other guests.  Dinner was incredible and served promptly and with great attention to detail.  Our room was very special with windows facing two directions: the village and the park in front of the château.  Erick, the owner, is very pleasant and welcoming.  He's always around to answer questions and to tell us about the château.  Most impressive was the chapel with its sculpture of General Marquis de Lafayette who once owned the château.  We just loved everything about it and will return again at our first opportunity!.

Ottima struttura, elegante e rafinata. Risponde perfettamente a quanto indicato nel sito.
Italy, August 2007

My wife and two of our friends stayed at Chateau de Reignac for only one night as we toured the Loire Valley. After our nights stay we really wished we could have stayed longer. We also included the dinner and breakfast. Our room was a junior suite; I believe the name was Duplessis. The staff was excellent as was dinner including the multiple drink courses (a sparkling Vouvray, two whites and a red) The sparkling Vouvray was good enough that we toured the vineyard the next day. (Cave des Producteurs de Vouvray was the vineyard.) Our room was beautiful as was our friends. Also all of the staff that we met spoke English if that is a concern.

We treated ourselves to this hotel to celebrate a birthday and an anniversary, and what a treat it proved to be. This place is a dream. We stayed in the Lafayette and Rochambeau rooms with our 2 children. The rooms were fabulous, very elegant and comfortable. Our bathroom, the size of some hotel rooms, had the deepest bath I have ever seen. Although there are no TV's in the bedrooms, one was available on request. The public areas are also beautiful. We had dinner in the Chateau on two nights, and on each occassion the food (set menu) was very good. The chestnut soup on its own was worth the visit to France! A real bonus (for someone travelling with children) was being allowed the use of the washing machine to do some much needed laundry. Thanks to Eric and Francoise for their hospitality.

This place is a real gem, we stayed just one night but in retrospect we should have stayed longer. We had the LaFayette room which was huge, really high ceiling and furnished beautifully. The huge bath was a god send after a day on the road. We also booked in for dinner and breakfast, both are not to be missed. If you read the other reviews like I did then the jam is just as good as they say, I loved the plum! There were really nice touches too, like when we were chatting to the host we mentioned we were going to the DaVinci museum the following day and when we checked out she had put together a few leaflets about the museum and the town it was in. Little things like that you just don't get in bigger hotels. This is a great hotel not to be misse
